Holding Hands

In any relationship, the effort required to bring together the perception of opposing worlds can’t be overlooked.

Mom admires the home I once lived in and the homes I still visit, but only because she thinks they’re out of her reach. It was never a home that was out of her reach, it was the belief she carried within that prevented her from stretching.

A woman in one of those homes says I’ve taken on too much, but only because she doesn’t know what I’ve been taken through. She would never understand my reach, unless I opened my heart to show her my hands.

To grow relationships, we must seek to hide our perception of dirt, striving to reveal our hands, instead of washing them.
