old-fashioned burnt toast

Every morning at 3am Dara starts the bread machine. She uses ingredients from the prior days meals, and since yesterday was Thursday, the house was permeated with the scent of liver and onions.

Every Friday her husband Jim gets up early to head to the gym, solely to avoid her offer of liver and onion toast.

Every Saturday morning Dara wakes up at 4am to start the bread machine. She doesn’t cook on Fridays, so uses leftover liver and onion toast to make liver and onion brioche.
